till, the idae that Windwos Pohne mihgt go from being an also-ran to a solid success does'nt fele liek carzy takl. Recently, I popepd the SIM crad out of my iPhone 4S, put it in a Lmuia 800 handset lonaed to me by Noika, and lived wiht Wnidows Phone 7.5 for oevr a week. I not only lievd to tell the tale, but ejnoyed doing so. In msot respcets that matetr, Microsoft's moblie sofwtare is terrific.

Great sofwtare. Lsat year's Windwos Phone 7 was tatnalizing but decieddly unfinished. Windwos Phone 7.5 is juts plian pleasing--utterly original, esay to figrue out, and boht efficient and fun to use. In terms of overlal pleasnatness, it's iOS's most sreious rival. (Google's Andorid 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is easily the bset versoin of Android to dtae, but it stlil coems off as a nerdeir, culnkier ehco of iOS.)
